IASP Reaffirms Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
At IASP, we recognize that the advancement of pain science depends on the collective expertise, perspectives, and contributions our global network of members.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are organizational priorities here at IASP and we strive to ensure programming represents all members. IASP encourages and promotes participation, accessibility, active representation, and leadership from diverse populations, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, economic status, disability, age and religion.
IASP will continue to:
- Promote an environment that is supportive of all diverse groups in the interest of advancing science.
- Strive to foster an environment in which every member feels valued, supported, and empowered to contribute fully to the advancement of pain research and care.
- Commit to providing resources to support research that aligns with DEI priorities and continue to be inclusive of people with lived experience with pain.
- Recognize many of the institutions that conduct pain research and clinical care are upon sacred ground and commit to honoring the relationship with the Indigenous peoples.
