MESISIG Mission and Vision

The Methodology, Evidence Synthesis, and Implementation Special Interest Group (MESISIG) aims to:

  • Foster a widespread interest in the production, methods and critical appraisal of high-quality evidence and evidence synthesis.
  • Provide a forum for the dissemination and promotion of skills, methodological best practice and promote innovations across the full breadth of pain research.

In this symposium, we report on:

1) How to understand quality in both primary research and systematic review.
2) How spin (i.e., misdirection) and diversion occur.
3) The current state of scientific retractions in pain literature.
4) How we might explore the trustworthiness of pain evidence.

ENTRUST-PE

ENTRUST-PE is an integrated framework for enhancing and facilitating the trustworthiness of pain research. The ENTRUST-PE website contains explainers, a detailed white paper and a range of resources to help the pain research community to improve the trustworthiness of our evidence. The ENTRUST-PE framework is officially endorsed by IASP and EFIC.
